Synopsis

The Snapshot Press Collection Competition was established in 1998 and is now an annual event, alternating between haiku and tanka.

It provides a rare and equal opportunity for authors to have a collection published in a professional manner, regardless of reputation and publishing history.

In 2004 there were 3 joint winners: Cherie Hunter Day, Ferris Gilli and Carolyn Hall. Individual collections by each winner will be published by Snapshot Press in 2006. A previous winning collection, Cherie Hunter Day's first book-length collection Early Indigo (Snapshot Press, 2000), went on to receive a Merit Book Award from the Haiku Society of America. Numerous other collections have also been published to critical acclaim as a result of entry into this contest. These books are available to order here.
