Synopsis |
The Snapshot Press Collection Competition was established in 1998 and is now an annual event, alternating between haiku and tanka. It provides a rare and equal opportunity for authors to have a collection published in a professional manner, regardless of reputation and publishing history. In 2004 there were 3 joint winners: Cherie Hunter Day, Ferris Gilli and Carolyn Hall. Individual collections by each winner will be published by Snapshot Press in 2006. A previous winning collection, Cherie Hunter Day's first book-length collection Early Indigo (Snapshot Press, 2000), went on to receive a Merit Book Award from the Haiku Society of America. Numerous other collections have also been published to critical acclaim as a result of entry into this contest. These books are available to order here. |

Synopsis |
The Haiku Calendar Competition has been held annually since 1999 and is now into its eleventh year. As a result of the contest 52 haiku are published each year in The Haiku Calendar. “A new departure in the presentation of haiku and a very imaginative
one … this calendar makes a lovely present” “Very cool.” “A very classy display.” “A sound buy.” “A great idea, carried out in an attractive and useful fashion.” “Don’t think that calendars are just for keeping the dates
straight … If you were only interested in excellent haiku from this
choice of international authors, this would be an exotic addition to your
bookshelves, even when the years have passed beyond this one.” “Ingenious” “Worth your money!” |
